Sweet Potato Black Bean Chili

This is one of my favorite chili recipes adapted from Real Simple magazine’s recipe. Just add all ingredients to the Slow Cooker or Instant Pot and cook for 4 hours.


1 onion, diced

1 green pepper, chopped

2 (14 oz.) cans fire roasted tomatoes

1 (14 oz.) can crushed tomatoes

1 medium sweet potato, peeled and diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup of water

2 cans black beans, rinsed

1 Tbsp. Chili powder

1 Tbsp. Cumin

1/4 tsp. Cinnamon

1/4 tsp. Cayenne pepper

1/4 cup cocoa powder

2 Tbsp. brown sugar

Salt & pepper
